Buffalo Amateur Radio Repeater Association

Membership in BARRA

Membership in BARRA is open to anyone with an active interest in amateur radio - holding an amateur radio license is not a requirement. Application is made in writing to the BARRA board, where the prospective member's application is reviewed and voted upon. New members become non-voting members of the club. These members have the same repeater privileges as voting members, but are not eligible to vote on matters that come before the membership. Full voting membership is secured by participating in a BARRA-sponsored event or by performing some task for the benefit of the club - such as writing a newsletter article, helping at a BARRA-sponsored public service event, and so on. Members who become eligible for full voting membership in the previous 12 months are approved each year in September, in time for all new voting members to have the opportunity to vote for the new roster of Board candidates.

DUES

Basic dues are $25 per year, with a $5 reduction when a member becomes a voting member. Other discounts are available for senior citizens, students, and disabled members. Family membership is available for $3 for each additional member beyond the first applicant.
